The Course
There are 5 main modules, along with some bonus videos.
Most of the modules will consist of videos and worksheets or other material that you can print out if you like.
Some modules such as module 3, have several training videos and accompanying worksheets. You can go at your own pace.
Don’t worry if you need more time, or want to go back and review certain trainings, you have full lifetime access to all the course modules, videos, and worksheets!

What if I don't paint in Oils?
That's perfectly ok. Cody will demonstrate in Oils, but there is so much valuable information and everything carries over, the only difference is in the paint application. Besides only about half of the homework assignments involve paint so it's nothing to worry about and you'll learn a ton. Use whatever medium you are most comfortable with.

How Does The Course Work Cody?

I truly enjoyed last Sat. class with you. I re-read the handout this week. Anyway, just wanted to tell you, I appreciated your teaching approach to oil painting. I have been in many workshops/classes et al over my 77 years... My DAD was a commercial artist, so grew up with art as it were. I taught art classes in high schools in Oregon, and finished up in Tempe, AZ. I think you have a very sound approach in your teaching method. I also enjoy your art.

At a workshop in Zion National Park, I struggled with an 8 x 10 canvas to get the cliffs in front of us in late morning light. Disgusted with the effort I headed for the nearest garbage can to toss the panel away as Cody paused. "You've got some nice calligraphy there" he said of my efforts. Encouraged, I saved the little painting and finished it. Cody encourages artists with generous information about paints, brushes and techniques he uses to capture incredible western landscapes, and he took me to a new level.
