New Contest - WIN
I hope this finds all of you well.
How are you filling your 'extra time' at home?
Since Jerome is still closed, I've been working on new videos, which
you can view here > Videos
. Most are free, and
there are a couple for sale at very affordable prices.
Below is a new time lapse video you might enjoy - 4:35 min.

_____
Videos are one way I'm trying to pay the rent on my studio in Jerome
while the town is shut down. To that end, for those of you who are
using this time to hone your own art skills, I'd like to ask you to
reply to (cody@codydelong.com) and tell me what would interest you as
far as future videos from me. These would be very affordable, in the
$20-30 range. Your input is much appreciated.
Questions:
1 - Would you like to do a live zoom class, or watch a pre-recorded
session that you could watch as often as you like on your own schedule,
or maybe a one-on-one FaceTime critique of a painting you're working on?
2 - What subjects you would like to see in a 1 hour session?
reply with as many as interest you, or add your own ideas.
- Landscape painting
- Still life painting
- Plein air painting
- Painting in the studio from photos
- Designing larger studio paintings
- Painting equipment, studio or plein air
- other (Painting water or simplifying a scene or...?)
Your input is much appreciated.

Win this Contest!
Speaking of videos, here's a unique way to spend a little of your extra
time. You could win a free print in the process, or maybe even an
original Painting!
Would you make a video for me? If you own some of my work, paintings or
prints, would you be willing to do a little walk through of my work in
your home, and maybe talk about what prompted you to buy, or what you
like about having my work in your home.
You can use your smart phone, and you don't even have to edit if you
don't want to, just send me the footage and I'll do the rest. I'll show
you the final vid for your approval before I share it on my website or
Facebook page.
Start your video with you talking to the camera/phone and just state
your first name/s, what state you live in or country, and then show us
your cody art with commentary about it. If you hired me to do a
commission, you might talk about what that experience was like, or
maybe comment on something as simple as where you chose to hang my work
in your home and what you like about that, how it changes throughout
the day, etc.
Think about the lighting and time of day, try to get good footage
without any glare on my paintings if you can. Do a couple of practice
runs, then go for it!
For those of you who take a little time to do this for me, I'll be
offering a free 8"x10" metal print from stock I have in my studio,
(shipping included) for the top three efforts.
Now I really want to motivate you to do this so...
The BEST VIDEO will win the 18"x 24" painting below
'Colors of Zion' (shipping included, unframed).
Videos must be submitted by Mothers day, May 10th. Contest winners will
be announced one week later. Have fun with this!
