Hard to believe it's almost Christmas and another year has passed. Sara, Koya and I hope you and yours are enjoying a wonderful holiday season!
I feel very fortunate to have once again had my best year yet. My painting sales were up, and I've worked hard at continuing my artistic growth. I'm excited for the new year and new possibilities.
Since my last newsletter, I participated in the Zion Plein Air Event, and it was their busiest show to date. My studio painting won a purchase award (thank you Xanterra) which will become my second piece in the permanent collection of the Zion Park Lodge. The former park superintendent bought one of my plein air pieces; I think he owns three of mine now (thanks Jock). I had one of the highest selling Quick-Draw paintings, and my demo sold as well as several other paintings in the show. To celebrate another successful event, I stayed in the area an extra day to go mountain biking on Gooseberry Mesa with my friend and artist Carl Ortman. The weather was unseasonably warm and we had a great time.
I'm happy to announce a new gallery that has taken on my work, located in Green Valley, Arizona (south of Tucson) called The Silver Hat Gallery. The photo at the top shows part of my wall. Here is the
link to the gallery's website.
In addition to a new gallery, I've decided to do some outdoor art shows in 2015. I applied to four shows and have been accepted into two of them so far. I'll be at the Tubac Festival of the Arts, February 4 - 8, and the Tempe Festival of the Arts, March 27 - 29, both in Arizona. Please look for my booth if you're in the area during these events. I'll announce more shows as they're confirmed.
Our next river trip will be May 12-20, 2016. This gives you more than a year to plan for it. This time artist Bill Cramer will be joining me as co-instructor. Bill is a talented and popular artist. Contact me for details
[email protected] or visit my
River Trips page for details.
As always, I have some great new pieces in the studio. Come on by and see for yourself if you can make it to Jerome. Many of my new landscapes are posted here on
my website. Let me know if you see something that might look great on your walls.
