Hi all, hope this note finds you well.
My journey continues as I am currently recuperating from shoulder surgery.
A year ago I landed wrong going over a jump on my mountain bike and suffered a Grade 5 AC Joint separation. The collar bone was sticking up under the skin and has been for the last year as I did all the physical therapy possible, trying to avoid the knife.
On June 2 the surgeons took a donor tendon from my knee, and used it to repair the shoulder, tying the collarbone back down where it belongs. It was just over a week ago, I'm still sore but improving daily and should be able to start painting again soon. The Gym and the Bike will have to wait a bit longer, tendons take time to heal, and you can't do active recovery like you can with muscles.
As a lifelong athlete, avoiding strenuous exercise is challenging for my brain, but I want a great recovery so I'm taking it easy until the doc says ok, and then a gradual return to strength again.
I'm using the extra time to work on several things, mostly planning as I'm still gimpy, but I did manage to put the finishing touches on 'Blue Rain' below. It was almost finished before the surgery, and yesterday I was able to stand steady enough to apply the final touches.
