Season of Changes Happy Holidays everyone, I sincerely hope you and yours are well this holiday season. I think most of us will be glad to see 2020 in the rear view mirror. Here's hoping 2021 will be much better for the entire world. Personally 2020 has been a struggle in a number of ways. Having my gallery closed during the typically good spring season was tough, and there has been no autumn rebound to speak of. I've never seen a fall this slow in Jerome. Empty parking lots even on Saturday? It's like being in the twilight zone. I keep painting through it all, and I'm proud of what I have in my gallery right now. I take some satisfaction in that. As a full time artist you have to operate on faith like few people ever do. Faith that your work will speak to enough people to pay your bills every month, year after year. Faith in your own ability to adapt and grow artistically, and to run the business end too. It can be exhausting even in the best of times. You really have to trust your gut. My gut is telling me it's time for a change. I've been selling my work in Jerome for 22 years now. I still love the Verde Valley, but I'm ready for a new adventure. So as of May 1, 2021 I'll be closing my Studio/Gallery in Jerome. (Possibly sooner depending on how slow the winter is). Studio My studio for the last 11+ years.Studio End of an era... Life is change and I'm thankful for all of my friends, family and collectors. An extra special thank you to a handful of you who have really gone above and beyond in keeping me going this past year. Soon I'll be excited to start a new adventure. Over the next few months I'll be basically selling everything I own, and downsizing (understatement) to a 16 foot long travel trailer which I'll tow behind my truck as I hit the road for the next couple of years. I'll still be painting, selling my work online, and I may have representation at my favorite gallery in Sedona. Stay tuned for some incredible special offers over the next few months as I attempt to sell a lot of work and empty my Studio. Near the end there will be some art supplies available too. Over the next couple of months, while I still have my Studio, I'll continue to accept commissions. So if you have any thoughts about a special piece that's just the right size and scene for your home, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Thank you to all of you who have been such wonderful supporters over the years. You have given me the courage and the means to live this wonderful life of mine. I hope you'll stick with me and find this new chapter interesting as I post my travel experiences (and new work) from the road. In my next newsletter I'll show you a photo of my new home, which I'm picking up on Monday and taking out for a test run next week.
