6 Drawing techniques for starting a painting

Hello everyone,

How is your summer going so far?

It's hot here in Arizona, so I've been keeping indoors for the most part.

My studio is not air conditioned, but even a fan is better than doing plein air right now.

I've been spending some of the slow time working on a couple of new videos for you. Even my non painter friends say they like watching these, so below is one I just finished on 6 different ways to start your painting. There are more I'm sure but these are some of the ways I like to start. I'm always changing it up so I don't get in a rut. Click on the image below and enjoy!

Canvas wrap video 1 min.

The video above is under 1 minute, and it shows a new river piece I recently finished. It's a better view of my 'accent frame' that I often use when I paint on canvas wraps.

The painting is a 12"x 12", and is available - $750.

Reflectivity

Light Tower

The two above are also canvas wraps, only smaller 10"x 10" each.

Click on either for more details.

I hope your summer is going great and you are well.

Quick question: Do you prefer to use Facebook or Instagram to view art?

Let me know at cody@codydelong.com

It can be a little crazy out there so let's try to be good to each other.

You never know what someone else is going through.

I currently have limited hours in Jerome. Wed - Sat from noonish until 4ish. Stop in if you're in the area, we are sanitizing daily and it's usually pretty easy to maintain social distancing.

Stay healthy and may art bring you some peace and comfort.

That's all for now, if you're in the Sedona/Jerome area

stop by my studio and say hello.
